‘Puppet Show’ is the first single of the year from Essex-based quartet She’s In Parties. It’s an energetic track filled with commentary on societal expectations and supported by a theatrical video featuring the band being played as pawns. Musically, it continues their experimentation with quirky 80s synth sounds and unique guitar explorations. In the centre of their unique musical world sits a powerful, playful voice. On the inspiration behind the track, vocalist Katie explains: “My teeth were decaying and falling out and I knew I had to go on stage and perform, which was absolutely terrifying. The song was written around this narrative, with me having to “smile” and perform, whilst also delving into a psychological battle.” The band’s second EP, Puppet Show, drops on October 25th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
